Work Philosophy

Why I Do What I Do:

My philosophy is simple: help the horse.

I am driven by the empathy and curiosity that was first fostered 10 years ago as a rescue volunteer.

I enjoy the puzzle that horses can be, and I often attempt to consider things from the horse's perspective in an effort to guide the horse to a better understanding of a particular task.

I place the physical and mental well being of horses above all other goals. Everything I do is designed to improve the life of the horse, and I never cut corners when it comes to their individual needs.

My introduction to horses took place at a horse rescue when I was 12 years old. I was absolutely stunned by the state of the horses when they arrived: emaciated, weak, and on the brink of death. As a volunteer, I worked to take care of the horses that resided on the farm. From mucking stalls and paddocks to scrubbing water troughs under the blistering sun, I was asked to complete chore after chore, but I didn't mind. I was able to see how every little thing I did helped each and every horse that was in need. I spent only a few months during the summer here, but the transformations I witnessed in those horses inspired me to do my best to help every horse I can.
